Child Safety
Surfcoast All Abilities is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person at our club. We have zero tolerance for child abuse of any kind.
We follow the Victorian Child Safe Standards. Our goal is a club where children are safe, feel safe, and are listened to.
Everyone who works with children at the club completes a Working with Children Check and our induction before they start. We check references for coaches and volunteers in positions of trust.
We listen to children and young people and take what they tell us seriously. We involve them and their families in decisions that affect them.
We are committed to the safety of every child, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disability.
If you have any concern about the safety of a child at the club, please tell us straight away using the contact details in the footer. If a child is in immediate danger, call 000.
We respond to every concern, keep records, and report to the relevant authorities where required.
